Our 2nd Season has seen extensive improvement off the field and a “work in progress” on the field. Better wickets, 2 new artificial wickets, 2 new static and 2 new mobile nets, extensive repair to the lane access to the club are evidence of the clubs ambition and drive to move forward. Our Youth development continues to prosper with our Under 13 (Wolves) team winning their league and our Under 15 (Warriors) side reaching the Cup Final, where they were due to play Hamworthy. This final has now been held over until April 2012. For the coming season we are hoping to add Under 8 and Under 9 teams to our youth section.
We are also looking to overhaul the playing side on a Saturday by designating our 2nd team to be a Development Team. This will be run by our Head Coach and Youth Development Team Officer, Steve Bishopp. In addition we are looking to allocate coaches to all our Saturday teams as well as returning to a specific day for our Youth sections training.
My thanks go to my hardworking Committee for their part in the “team” driving the club forward, all the Youth helpers, Michael & Jean Lingwood and a special mention to “Bish” and his team for producing a splendid group of youngsters who are the future of the club.
